Introduce about Realm Defense
Graphics
For the graphic, we will be customized 4 levels, automatic, low, medium and high. What makes the game smoother is the 2D graphics combined with the simple effects. These two factors will help the game avoid overlapping effects or delay with the graphics requirements are not too high, so the game will always run as smoothly as possible.
Gameplay
Realm Defense has the same gameplay as Fieldrunners, so your main task in the game is to provide the best tactics to protect the gate of the kingdom from poisonous larvae, zombies or even witches.
In order for you to give the optimal tactics, the game will provide you with 4 main types of towers including Archer, Barracks, Cannon and Wizard. Each tower has a different function and power. And after you pass the first 5 stages, you will be given two more heroes Fee and Lancelot.
The game has 20 levels corresponding to each different kingdom and the maximum difficulty level of the game is 5. And the game requires you to complete all stages of the first kingdom to go to the next kingdom. Through each level, you will be increasingly difficult to win with 3 stars.
What makes this game different than Fieldrunners comes from the heroes. Instead of the gameplay you are provided with turrets and upgraded gradually over time, Realm Defense allows you to upgrade turrets along with upgrading heroes. So the difficulty level is high and the complexity of enemies is increasing.
Finally, this is a game that I think definitely “pay to win”. From the second hero onwards, to unlock other heroes you will need lots of diamonds. You can get diamonds by participating in the arena opened each day.
Some of my tips
Heroes
In this game, we are allowed to use two free heroes, Fee and Lancelot.
Fee is the female archer that you will receive after completing the first few stages, this hero not has much HP so you must place Fee’s to the safe position. In the beginning, when you still have not accumulated a lot of elixirs to upgrade your hero, Fee can help you a lot with the ability to summon wolf spirits. However, the condition for you to summon wolf souls is not to let Fee die. After each round of the stage, our heroes will be revived, but Fee after death will lose that skill.
The next hero we will receive in the first half of the game is Lancelot. As the hero’s name, Lancelot is a knight and he has the skill to activate a shield covering himself and his teammates. If you face enemies with fast movement speed, you need to take advantage of this guy’s skills along with the tower to stop them.
Tower
In Realm Defense, you will own 4 main towers Archer, Barracks, Cannon and Wizard.
- Archer is used to attacking flying enemies.
- Barracks should be placed near gates to prevent enemy sneaking in.
- Cannon has higher damage than enemies before you upgrade them in the early game.
- Wizards should be upgraded sooner because it creates an area of increased damage and attack speed for heroes and soldiers.
Music
In Fieldrunners 1 and 2, maybe you still remember the epic melody. On the contrary, the game will lead us to fantasy wars with great adventure music. I actually had to spend a few minutes to enjoy this whole song.
Most games in this category are underestimated because of the game’s difficulty level and the interface is too simple. And to solve this problem, Realm Defense was really right when investing in a soundtrack as Legend of Zelda. Because if you’ve ever played this series, the soundtrack of Legend of Zelda is highly appreciated by players.
Advantage and cons
Advantages: Graphics of the game are smooth, with no lag or frame delay. Diverse gameplay levels and a lot of upgrades. Sound is the biggest advantage because the soundtrack is very attractive to players.
Cons: The game is a pay to win type, doesn’t really create conditions for gamers to experience all the superior features if not purchased. The game is unbalanced at later difficult levels, due to the lack of necessary heroes. And you can’t get diamonds if you can’t win with 3 stars on each level.

So which one is better between classic Fieldrunners and Realm Defense? If you are interested in playing a lot, Realm Defense will be suitable for you.
