Graphics and sound
Ignoring all the extreme combat in the game, King of Defense: Battle Frontier, in my opinion, is quite funny. The army of Orc is large and muscular but has a rough shape, quite stupid. And the dwarf kingdom heroes are as cute as ever. The top-down perspective not only makes it easier to observe the situation but also makes the Orcs’ clumsiness and the cute dwarfs’ cuteness more charming. It also has a Plus in a very animated color scheme. The battlefield is a colorful and joyful picture, without the feeling of gore, or heaviness at all.
And yet, the more you play, the more you will see the madness of the producer team. The kingdom you are protecting is not only a rigid stronghold but also a variety of different terrains. The battle can take place in a desolate desert, a dark forest, or a deadly frozen land. And in each of these different scenes, the dwarves and the evil Orcs are “dressed” in fashion and suitable for the environment. For example, you can see a big, ugly monster walking around in the desert to cool off the heat… Haha! Such a scene is indescribable comedy!
The sound is light, not too dramatic, mainly to highlight the effects of important events such as when assembling turrets or firing heavily at Orc bosses… The rest is quite quiet for players to focus on the strategy.
