The selected cases are not only large-scale, unpredictable tricks, but because the perpetrator, with his crime, has accidentally caused unwanted changes to history, making part of the timeline changed. You, as a time-traveling detective, are tasked with discovering and fixing this faulty timeline, by finding the culprits and taking legal action.
Gameplay
In Criminal Case: Travel in Time, you will be at the scene, observe the details, talk to the witnesses, investigate the scene for clues, narrow the scope of the suspect and confront to find out the truth. Finally give logical arguments and physical evidence to put the scheming killer in jail.
Criminal Case: Travel in Time is a typical puzzle game. So, you will have to do all the work that a puzzle game offers, including explore the scene, find objects, observe, and answer questions, and solve a series of puzzles in many other situations.
Specifically, there will be scenes where you need to find an important clue in a limited time (such as a weapon, a lost victim’s towel, not found in the body…). These items will be listed as text at the bottom of the screen. Every time you find and touch the item, the letters will change color. When you find enough, you will go to the next level. Criminal Case: Travel in Time features a time-varying world map, which is divided into seven periods and has a total of thirty-one cases to be solved.
Antiquity is the first milestone in the game. There were four or five cases that happened between 47 BC and 37 BC. The “protagonist” is a fake time traveler, spreading crime everywhere and creating ripple effects that disrupt the flow of history. It includes both the conquest of the Roman Empire and the fictional case of a time machine malfunctioning after a runaway slave snuck aboard a ship.
Next is the cases that happened in the 1960s, revolving around the organization that sabotaged the time machine and trapped the detective members in the timeline. You had to save this period by solving several cases that occurred between the Cold War of the United States and the Soviet Union, and the ideological battles for global hegemony.
Then came the Renaissance around 1515. The task is to find the genius painter Leonardo da Vinci and restore the time travel formula together to repair the time machine to go back to the year 2029.
There are also many cases that take place in Medieval Asia, Ancient Egypt, Age of Sail and several other timelines.
